Twist 'n Turn, Standard & Talking Barbies

1966- 1971  TNT Barbie Doll
The beginning of the Mod Barbie Era. Barbie received a total makeover – a new face, a new hair style and a new body. The TNT Barbie has bendable legs, rooted eyelashes, and a twist and turn waist. There was a different swimsuit for each year and 2 different hairstyles….. one with a cute small ponytail with long hair hanging underneath, and a Marlo flip.

1967-1970  Standard Barbie Doll
Was the new “TNT’ face on the standard (original, “non-TNT”) body, without eyelashes. It was  more of the “budget” Barbie.  She came in 2 different swimsuits and 2 different boxes  with a picture of her swimsuit  on the box.

1968-1971 Talking Barbie was on a bendable legs and TNT body.
She came with a pull tag and when pulled said various Barbie sayings. She also spoke Spanish if you were lucky enough to find one! There were 4 different box  types and 3 different swimsuits for her.
